Hello everyone, Ruth here! As one of the owners of Woodlands Manor Farm. I get to do a lot of wonderful things, but I have to say, the highlight of my week is definitely our twice-weekly “Feed the Animals” experience.
The Feed The Animals Experience
Twice a week, all our guests, big kids and little kids alike, are invited to join me as we make up feed, head out to the paddocks, and meet our wonderful animal family. We’ve got rabbits, horses, goats, sheep, chickens, pigs, and alpacas—all waiting for a friendly face and a handful of treats.
For me, there’s nothing quite like seeing the excitement in the kids’ eyes (and let’s be honest, the grown-ups’ too) as they get to feed the animals and interact at their happy time. It’s a real hands-on experience that creates memories I see families cherishing long after they leave.

From the moment we arrived, Andy and Ruth, the wonderful owners, made us feel like family. This personal touch, combined with the idyllic rural setting, a fantastic swimming pool, and a superb games room, creates a truly winning formula for a memorable getaway. And let’s not forget the charming farm, home to the most incredibly friendly animals!
One of the highlights for our children (and us!) is Ruth’s fantastic “meet the animals” sessions, offered twice a week. The opportunity to feed the friendly residents – horses, goats, sheep, chickens, alpacas, rabbit and pigs – was a real treat. We even made friends with the adorable resident farm cat!
The stunning rural setting offers amazing walks right from the doorstep, making it an ideal destination not just for families but for anyone seeking a peaceful escape.
The farm boasts a range of beautiful and quaint cottages, catering to different group sizes.
A heartfelt thank you to Andy and Ruth for yet another unbelievable stay. Their thoughtfulness and the little extra touches they provide truly elevate the experience and made this, once again, the best holiday we’ve had in the last three years.
