Exciting Events Aplenty in Bude this Summer

The summer months of July and August are a fantastic time to visit Woodlands Manor Farm with a number of amazing events planned in the nearby town of Bude. When you’re not enjoying the stunning surroundings of our self-catering holiday cottages and yurts, you can take the short trip into Bude and make the most of their exciting line-up of summer activities. Here are some of the events we are most looking forward to:

North Coast Arts Open-Air Theatre Festival (June – August)

Revel in the scenic outdoors and enjoy a performance at the same time with the North Coast Arts Open-Air Theatre Festival. From Shakespeare classics such as Twelfth Night, MacBeth and Romeo & Juliet to timeless favourites like Peter Pan, Robin Hood and Alice in Wonderland, grab a cosy blanket or comfy seat and enjoy a show in some lovely surroundings.

Bude Pride (1st July)

Celebrate equality and diversity whilst having a fantastic day at Bude Pride. Join the march, starting at noon, from Summerleaze Long Stay Car Park to The Castle, where there will be a free festival for all to enjoy. Live music, stalls, food and a licensed bar area will provide the perfect festival atmosphere for a worthwhile cause.

Bude-Stratton Heritage Festival (16th July)

Immerse yourself in the captivating history of Bude-Stratton at the annual Heritage Festival. This fun and free day out allows visitors and the community to celebrate the town and local heritage. There are a variety of activities for people of all ages, from live music and shows to food, drinks and stalls from local businesses, this event always promises to be a great day out.

Bude Food Festival (13th August)

Returning after a successful event in April, the Bude Food Festival is a must-visit for food enthusiasts! Combining an artisan farmers market with street food and locally-produced drinks aplenty, the Bude Food Festival has something for everyone to enjoy regardless of taste preferences.

Bude Carnival (19th August)

A massive hit with our guests and locals alike is the highly anticipated Bude Carnival. Experience the heartwarming display of colourful floats, lively music, and the infectious energy of the community coming together. Kicking off at 2pm, the Carnival Fete offers a huge range of family-friendly entertainment before the evening procession starts at 6:30pm.

Bude Jazz Festival (29th August to 1st September)

Prepare to be swept away by the soulful melodies and infectious rhythms of the Bude Jazz Festival. Immerse yourself in the sounds of jazz, blues, ragtime and more as talented musicians grace various venues throughout the town. Get ready to tap your feet and swing to the beats!
