Our Brand New Yurts are now Open!
Our two fantastic new yurts are officially open to guests and we couldn’t be more excited! Glamping has been growing in popularity over the past few years, with many holidaymakers having a desire to experience nature but still enjoy glamorous accommodation, so we knew the addition of yurts to our estate would go down an absolute treat with our visitors. Budhyn (the Cornish word for meadow) and Fenton (Cornish for spring) are spacious and comfortable, offering a luxurious stay with the stunning surroundings of Cornwall’s natural beauty situated right outside the door.
What is a Yurt?
The question we’re sure many of you will be asking yourselves right now! A yurt is a traditional type of tent originating in Central Asia. These unique structures were created to provide a stable and comfortable home that could also be easily unassembled and moved in order to suit the typically nomadic lifestyles of their inhabitants. Constructed from wood or bamboo and covered with animal skins or felt, yurts have been offering warmth, protection from the elements and a place to call home for thousands of years.
Authenticity and Luxury Under One Roof
Fortunately, you don’t have to travel to Central Asia to enjoy an authentic yurt – we can offer that experience right here at Woodlands Manor Farm. Visit us for your glamping getaway and have the pleasure of staying in one of our stunning yurts, sourced directly from Mongolia courtesy of the wonderful team at Kents of Cornwall. They are created using Mongolian larch wood and 100% natural Mongolian yak & sheep wool, allowing you to enjoy a genuine yurt experience in the serene surroundings of the Cornwall countryside.
Our yurts may well be authentic but that doesn’t mean you won’t be able to indulge in some modern luxuries. Both Budhyn and Fenton feature a super king-sized bed and two single beds with extra comfortable linen, soft, fluffy towels and their own shower room with WC. Their kitchens are kitted out with all of the appliances and accessories you’ll need to prepare delicious meals for you and your fellow guests, as well as plenty of seating and space for both indoor and outdoor dining.
Thanks to our picturesque location you will feel at one with nature but the complimentary wifi and convenient charging points will ensure you don’t run out of data or battery, letting you stay up to date with the rest of the world – only if you choose to, of course!Adventure and Exploration throughout the Local Area
You may be tempted to spend as much time as possible in the comfy confines of the yurt, but there is also so much to do nearby that you won’t want to miss out on. We are a short distance from some absolutely lovely locations. There are a number of gorgeous beaches close by, including Summerleaze, featuring an amazing sea pool, as well as the beautiful National Trust beaches Sandymouth and Duckpool. If you’re a nature lover and want to see more than just beaches, the very popular South West Coast Path is only 2 miles away, as is the wonderful Coombe Valley. As well as the scenic spots, there are many charming villages and towns within 10 miles or so that would be sure to give you a warm welcome.
If you prefer not to venture too far then you are always free to take a stroll around the peaceful and pleasant surroundings of our gardens, fields and woodlands. Don’t forget that residents of our yurts also have full access to the Woodlands Manor Farm facilities including heated indoor pool, games room, playground and more.
